I was asked to write a short biography and testimony for this web site. On thinking about this I felt that outlining my business career and my testimony did not really explain my values and lifestyle as a Christian.
The most motivating factor in my life is the privilege of being a friend of Jesus, knowing He shares my daily decisions and struggles. With this relationship being so integrated in my life it means my values inevitably realign themselves. Jesus talked of leaving the 99 sheep for the one sheep (the sheep that was sidelined and on the fringe of society- the “black” sheep). This is where my heart is and the focus for my efforts.
Of course my wife, stepchildren, grandchild (and even the cats) are important but so are those who are marginalised by the occult, neglect and just the stuff of life that happens to us all. I believe God wants to talk to each of us individually. We are each uniquely made so it comes as no surprise He talks to each of us in a unique manner, depending upon who we are; I love exploring with people how they hear from God, sharing experiences and helping them hear more clearly. Often this involves the healing of emotions and memories.
My many years in the business community has provided financial skills, I use these as Treasurer of the church. Other business skills also come in handy on the leadership team.
I became a Christian as a teenager (quite a few years ago), but my background was not “churchy”.
